Dear Players,

It’s with great pleasure that, after countless hours of work and imagination swirling around in our living room, we bring you these few words. Four important points come to mind because, when we imagine you playing these games, our primary wish is for you to have a fantastic time with friends.

First and foremost, Killer Wink is meant to be played as a part of your evening, in the background of your night. There’s no point in distributing the cards and staying around the table to play. Once the cards are dealt, go about your evening—have a drink, chat with friends, step out on the terrace, cook, play other games, do what you usually do, but keep your mission and accomplices in mind, and act when no one expects it.

The second point, which is very important to us and gave us plenty of challenges, is that everyone can play. The person explaining the rules doesn’t know any more than the others and can participate as well. There’s no game master, so no one is left out to monitor events.

The third point is obvious: among friends, we don’t cheat, we don’t peek at the cards, and when we’re eliminated, it’s tough, but that’s part of the game. Let’s remember to respect each other, that it’s only a game, and that the real pleasure comes not from the game itself, but from being together.

And finally, even though it’s possible to play with a minimum of six players, we recommend having at least eight to ten players for more variety in combinations and a longer, more engaging game.

With these few words, all that’s left is to wish you, which would be our greatest reward, excellent evenings with friends, set to the background of Killer Wink.

Yours truly,

Francis & Laurie Rantière
